Everyone tells me it's windy

So I was getting ready to go to a wedding and I thought I would document my outfit. But later I ended up adding an aaaamazing belt, but sadly I didn't take a picture of it this time. I got this little number at Charolette Russe and I love it because it's just a simple black dress. I can pair it with so much of my jewelery which is lovely.
I'm really enjoying everything simple right now. Whoever said that we needed the world? I think we all just need a few basics and some people to love on to bring us joy.

skirt: Old Navy
shirt: vintage
necklace: vintage
shoes: Khols
hairpin: Homemade by Bella
I went to a city wide garage sale this last weekend. When there are alot of garage sales I always go for the grandma houses first and look for old, vintage clothing. I found this shirt and necklace at one place. I thought it looked 1950's so I snatched it up for a grand total of $1.o0 (yes, I am a talent) and I made the little flower hairpin to go with my outfit.
I hope to get some more awesome vintage finds before the summer is up, so I better be off!

Leaf Me Be

I have a love/hate relationship with nature.
I appreciate the beauty of the trees and flowers and adore the sound of a babbling brook, but I am not an avid fan of bug bites and poison ivy, or those other not "so nice" side effects of nature.

Call me wrong, or chicken salad, but I think world would be a nicer place without those little annoyances. I took these pictures when I was in Colorado on my last day. I was out hiking with my family (Yes, in a skirt).
It was so beautiful and would have been even greater if all those annoying naturey things hadn't been in the same spot as me. What can I say, I'm a city girl.
Well this is Bella, off to explore till my next post.

Color Me With Flowers

I think I was meant to live in floral prints. As soon as I enter a store I migrate automatically towards anything with a flower on it.
What can I say, I'm a girl.
I like pretty things.
And what better time to wear a cute flower printed dress than in Colorado, completely surrounded by nature.

My deepest desire right now is to find a necklace that can make music. I've been looking everywhere. Hopefully God and His angels will decide to bless me with one. (fingers crossed) ....Or maybe you ladies have some suggestions......
I can't believe July is almost over. It's ridiculous how quickly time moves. I'm heading to Ohio to see my college buddies in a few days. It should be fun times. I'll make sure to post some things about it.

Well lovelies, Make sure to do all your favorite summer things.
Don't miss out on any offered adventures.
Just dive in deep into the joys of summer before time runs out!

Love you bugs!!

The Clock Gives Us Shadows

Rain Has No Father? By El Anatsui

So I have been trying to get back in the swing of sewing my own clothes. And I found this cute fabric at the store and decided to turn it into a little dress. My family took a vacation to Colorado recently to see the King Tut exhibit. It was full of all this really awesome jewelry. I personally think that we all should go back to wearing clothes like the Egyptians.
I ended up going through the whole Denver Art Museum afterwards, even though it took five hours. I loved every second though.
I took a few pics of my favorites.

I'll keep you guys updated on the rest of my VK.

Remember Us?

Blogging is hard.First, you have to take pictures; which, in itself, isn't terribly hard. However, the pictures will invariably end up on the internet, which may mean that many, many people will see them. Consequently, the pictures must actually be pretty. That's why the picture taking part is hard.Second, out of the kajillions of pictures you end up taking (cause, really, there's always that one more that you have to take, just in case) you have to choose the five or six that you like best. This part is very hard.
And third, you have to actually put it up on your blog. This part is the hardest. Why?
Because you have to remember, which is hard. And also, you have to make an effort, which is hard.
So, basically blogging is hard.Sort of because no one wants to end up looking like an idiot on the internet. But mostly because making an effort and actually doing a bit of work is much harder than being lazy and doing nothing. These pictures are from awhile ago. Bella and I went to the park.
It was fun.
We also brought Rory, my key chain dinosaur.
There's a picture of him frolicking below.

Please forgive us for the lack of updates, after all, blogging is hard.
We'll try harder.

The Cat's Meow

Dress: Urban Outfitters/ Necklace: Vintage/ Shoes: Target/ Bracelet: Re-Find Thrift Store

I was going to take a nap today, but then I thought I should do something more productive with my time. And I guess in my mind a blog post is productive. haha. My cat, Lexi, decided to join in my photos and I thought she looked so cute.
My half birthday is coming up and for each half birthday I buy myself a pair of "Happy Half Birthday" shoes. This little red pair is this years. I love the color red. It is such a classy color and goes so well with black and white and pretty much anything you pair it with. I consider it a neutral that can be added to anything in both clothes and painting.
Anywho, I thought I would add a smal excerpt of Bobby D's poetry to end this. There is more to it if you wanna look it up. Hope you enjoy and love it!
Gates of Eden

The foreign sun, it squints upon
A bed that is never mine
As friends and other strangers
From their fates try to resign
Leaving men wholly, totally free
To do anything they wish to do but die
And there are no trials inside the Gates of Eden

At dawn my lover comes to me
And tells me of her dreams
With no attempts to shovel the glimpse
Into the ditch of what each one means
At times I think there are no words
But these to tell what's true
And there are no truths outside the Gates of Eden
~Bob Dylan
